MOTOR: The Pump Jet Motor is equipped with a modified advanced design propulsion system.
The innovative design replaces the conventional propulsion system, the spinning open propeller.
The Pump Jet is NOT a propeller guard or a shallow water pumping system. The forward looking
orientation of the Pump Jet allows 100% of the power to go into propelling the boat. No loss of
power is experienced from the use of feeding scoops or directional change to the water.
GEAR CASE: The rigid mounting of the forward Rotor Housing is on a conventional gear case.
Having the standard gear case in place allows for rudder steering with superior response.
Reverse is accomplished through the standard transmission of the gear case. This will also assist in
clearing the Pump Jet of any foreign debris. Service of the Pump Jet gear case does not require
special tools or equipment, and can be completed at authorized service dealers.
PUMP JET: The Pump Jet Housing is designed with a series of inlet struts and surrounding
protection of the Rotor. This design actually reduces the area which may come in contact with
underwater objects. The Rotor, provides the propulsion and is designed to move water through the Pump. Rotational water propelling off of the Rotor blades is counter-rotated to form a powerful jet
stream of water out of the Stator Housing exit.
DURABILITY: The Pump Jet Housing provides a high degree of protection for the Rotor. This makes the Pump Jet much less vulnerable to damage from collision with underwater obstacles. Gear drive train damage will be reduced with the use of the Pump Jet. Gear case service life is also extended. The Pump Jet is made of reparable solid aluminum castings for rugged dependability and maintainability.
SAFETY: In early 1990, the U.S. Marine Corps recognized the need for an outboard motor which would allowed operations & training exercises to safely be conducted at both night and day with personnel in the water. Attempts to adapt cages and guards to open propellers to permit in-the-water access resulted in unacceptable performance losses with decreased engine reliability. To fill this technology void, ACT, Inc. of Orlando, Florida to developed the Pump Jet as a powerful and reliable propulsion alternative for the outboard motor. Today, this technology has proven itself around the
world, is available to you as the reliable and safe outboard.
The Pump Jet is dedicated to those military professionals who serve on, and in, the waters of the world. We offer a full line of parts & accessories, technical service, and field support necessary to keep the military professional ready for all operations such as; surf zone activities, swift water rescue and recovery, plus all water training exercises and instruction.
